| What conditions does IPL treat?
IPL treats age spots, sun-induced freckles, enlarged pores, sun damage, uneven color, rough skin texture, and acne. In addition, it stimulates collagen production, thereby easing fine lines and wrinkles. IPL is the only FDA-approved procedure to treat rosacea, and results in a reduction in flushing and burning, as well as a decrease in redness and dilated capillaries.
How is the treatment performed?
A cool gel is applied to the skin and light energy is delivered in a series of gentle pulses. The treatment is comfortable and takes about thirty minutes with no downtime. IPL treats imperfections of the face, neck, chest, hands and body.
How many treatments are needed?
For best results, a series of 5 treatments are recommended, spaced 3 weeks apart. After the initial series, touchup treatments once or twice a year will help to maintain the improvements.
What is the result of IPL?
Patients usually notice softer and smoother skin. Over time, brown spots or redness fade, resulting a more even skin tone; pore size shrinks, skin feels softer and fine lines decrease.
